Many different elements in this large kitchen combine for a simple elegance with functional integrity.
Beginning with the placement of the cooking wall with its impressive hood (over 7’ long) a stunning focal point is created. To complete the functional requirements, the fridge and island sink are positioned to set up a convenient and separate work triangle for preparation. The clean-up side of the kitchen has the dishwasher and dish storage within easy access to the table.
The island itself has a “transparent” character reminiscent of a central table. Cabinetry finish for the island is in ¼ sawn walnut with a dark stain. This colour is repeated for the base of the banquette and for the custom table. The rest of the kitchen is finished in a warm rift white oak which features a very consistent white and uniform vertical grain.
Backsplash tiles in a subtle mushroom colour are installed vertically to complement the woodgrain.
