Winner – Custom Baths, GOHBA Interior Design Awards 2007
Curving and flowing of water is the inspiration for the design of this bath. Curved elements in the cabinets, counters, mirrors and tiles are all interconnected as in the flow of a river. Although beautiful in their effect, all of these elements were purposefully chosen for functionality. In all cases, the designs are only possible as a result of the craftsmanship of all the trades involved.
To begin the flow, a slight flare on the cabinet nearest the toilet give just a bit more space for the toilet’s use. This in turn sets up the curve of the countertop into the shower stall and forms a slight ledge for shampoo and soap. The flow continues to the curved bench needed for the steam shower. The curved backsplash accommodates the faucet and accessories.
The wall to the right of the vanity accommodates an enviable amount of storage for such a small room.
Colours and finishes selected are all in harmony with the adjacent bedroom and wardrobe.
