Winner – Custom Baths, GOHBA Interior Design Awards 2007
This ensuite bath was created by adding a small but dramatic addition that projects into the backyard/garden of this estate home. Fittingly the design for the space needed to compliment the space.
The focal point is the freestanding tub perfectly centred to the room. Placement of toilet room and shower created uniform wall space for matching vanities. Each vanity is self contained with ample storage including medicine cabinets with mirror frames. Dark cherry cabinets are in strong contrast to the neutral coloured limestone floor and walls. Textured glass used for the shower is matched in the door to the toilet room.
Continuity from the bedroom to the ensuite is provided by the wardrobe with matching cabinets and a clever full length mirrored door that accesses another small walk-in closet.
In 2006 we underwent extensive renovation of our kitchen and en-suite bathroom with the team at Design First helping us through this often challenging process. Friedemann guided the design process with his knowledge and creative ideas but respected our input and particular needs. He worked with us to design rooms that fit with the rest of our home. The outcomes were stylish and fresh. Friedemann is very exacting and a stickler for the details, which makes a huge difference to the final product. His oversight of the project ensured quality throughout. We have since had some “accidents” requiring repair and found Design First very helpful in getting this fixed properly. We are extremely pleased with all aspects of Design First – from the design concept to installation to aftercare. We are planning to do some more renovations and will definitely be calling on Friedemann and his team.
