At first sight, this kitchen was more than overdue for a complete remodel. It was time to bring this kitchen up-to-date with a fresh design. The old appliances, flooring, wall paper and cabinetry were all outdated original to the existing home. The homeowner also had very specific requests for the details that related to the functionality and looks.
The old range and microwave combination unit was replaced by a sleek thirty-inch induction cooktop with an integrated fan hidden within the upper cabinets. The banquette and fridge area were updated and combined together. To maximize storage, cabinet drawers were added below the seat of the banquette, a hidden cabinet behind the fridge and a pull-out pantry were also incorporated.
The colour scheme was inspired from the homeowner’s most cherished landscape photographic print hanging in an adjacent room. The light maple cabinetry paired with white countertops and soft blue coloured walls naturally warms up the space creating a tranquil environment.
The existing walk-in pantry was removed to expand the counter space into a U-shaped kitchen. The pantry window was now a part of the kitchen. The existing window above the sink was replaced with one large single window pane bathing this fresh new space with natural light.
